Recreational soccer is about learning the game. For Spring 2019 we will offer leagues for players born in 2014 through players who are 8th graders in the 2018-19 school year. Our rec leagues are suitable for beginners and for players who are not interested in or not ready for our more competitive travel teams.
Spring 2019 Training & Games
Our training and game schedules for the season will be found under the Spring 2019 Schedules and Results tab above once they have been prepared.
All of our rec divisions will have academy training with an experienced coach once each week. The academy training session is the primary training for the week. All players and team coaches should attend academy training. The purpose of academy training is to ensure all players receive proper instruction for their age as well as giving our team coaches ideas for their individual team training sessions.
In addition to academy training, team coaches may hold one additional training session per week with their team. We require coaches of 10U and 13U teams hold an individual team training session. For 8U teams, the decision about individual team training sessions is left up to each team coach. 6U teams are not allowed to hold individual training sessions.
This spring our rec leagues play their games on Sundays beginning March 31 and ending May 19. Each team will play at 1:30 or 2:45 each week. Team coaches are responsible for coaching their teams during the games.
Formatting of the game
Age groups are determined by the player's birth year. Each division plays with rules that are appropriate for their age as determined by the United States Soccer Federation and the Indiana Soccer Association. Each division's rules can be found on our Resources page. Due to the number of 13U players we have, they will play using the 12U rules but in a 7v7 format.
Age groups are as follow:
|2014||6U ||4v4 |
|2011||8U ||4v4 |
|2010||10U ||7v7 |
|2009||10U ||7v7 |
|2007||13U ||7v7 |
|2006||13U ||7v7 |
